ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE ON COPYRIGHT AND
RELATED RIGHT REGISTRATION
  • Step 1: Consulting on types, objects of protection, documents, procedures for copyright registration and related costs;
  • Step 2: Preparing copyright registration dossiers;
  • Step 3: Filing a protection registration application at the Copyright Office (COV);
  • Step 4: Notification of results of receiving dossiers;
  • Step 5: Pay the Copyright Certificate Fee.
FILING COPYRIGHT REGISTRATION
1. Necessary documents
  • Declaration (application) for copyright registration
  • Photocopy of identity card / CCCD of the author;
  • A copy of the business registration certificate (if the owner is an organization);
  • The owner's decision to assign work to the author;
  • The commitment of the author;
  • POA (according to the form);
  • Written works: 2 A4-printed volumes with page numbers and the author's signature on every page or company seal;
  • Computer program: 2 copies of source code + software interface on A4 paper + 2 CDs with source code content and its interface;
  • Works of applied art: 2 copies of A4 paper with the signature or seal of the author or owner of the work;
  • Musical works: 2 copies of music + lyrics or sound recording in case of recording;
  • Architectural works: 2 drawings printed on A3 paper.
2. Address to submit registration documents

Authors, copyright holders, related rights holders directly or authorize other organizations and individuals to submit copyright registration dossiers at:

  • Copyright Office - No. 33 Alley 294/2 Kim Ma, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, City. Hanoi
  • Representative Office of the Copyright Office in Ho Chi Minh City: No. 170 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ward 6, District 3, City. Ho Chi Minh.
  • Representative Office of the Copyright Office in Da Nang: No. 01 An Nhon 7 Street, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, City, Danang.
3. Get a certificate of copyright registration

After the dossier is appraised and confirmed and valid and complete, the Copyright Office will issue a registration certificate to the owner to acknowledge the ownership rights to the owner.

 

4. Time limit for processing

State management agencies in charge of copyright are responsible for granting copyright registration certificates and related rights registration certificates to applicants within 15 working days from the date of receipt of dossiers. In case of refusal to grant a certificate, the state management agency in charge of copyright and related rights must notify in writing the applicant.
