With the spirit of the World Intellectual Property Day, Copyright Office of Vietnam (COV) organize a series of activities in the whole country.

It was on April 12th that Game show “Copyright and Creation”, which is for students, took place in Hanoi. This is considered an useful event for the youth as well as a new and effective way to spread copyright and related rights provisions. There are 3 teams in this event from: National Economics University, Hanoi Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Culture. Through the questions on copyright and related rights, the students showed their confidence, wide knowledge and creativity. Finally, the team from Hanoi Foreign Trade University was the champion of the game show. On April 22nd2016, COV will send a delegation to attend National Research Workshop on “Enforcing the legal commitment of Vietnam in Free Trade Agreements and the issue of right of reproduction in the situation of integration”.

In Da Nang, The Representative Office of COV in Da Nang, in cooperation with Da Nang University organized seminar on intellectual property for lecturers and officers. Furthermore, to implement the policy on intellectual property, The Representative Office of COV in Da Nang, together with Da Nang Department of Science and Technology and Da Nang Television held a series of game shows on intellectual property, which is mainly for enterprises and university students. Besides, The Representative Office of COV in Da Nang organized a meeting to appreciate the contribution to intellectual property protection of officers living in Da Nang.

In Ho Chi Minh City, The Representative Office of COV, together with Vietnam Center for protection of music copyright (VCPMC) held a seminar on copyright in the field of music. Besides, The Representative Office of COV in Ho Chi Minh City is working to carry out the assigned tasks and to plan some events, which is suitable to this year’s topic of The World Intellectual Property Day.

These activities hope to build the awareness of protecting copyright and related rights in Vietnam as well as help the public to access more easily to intellectual property provisions.
