Announcement ceremony for certification marks of Ba Ria - Vung Tau

On 30 November 2016, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau has hosted the launch of the 03 certification mark for products: Long Kien Vermicelli - Ba Ria city, Long Son Oysters - Vung Tau city and An Ngai Rice paper - Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The three certification marks registration certificates are issued by the National Office of Intellectual Property-  Ministry of Science and Technology at Decision 33105/QĐ-SHTT and 33106/QĐ-SHTT dated 06 June 2016 and Decision 36447/QĐ-SHTTS dated 20 June 2016.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pham Thi Thuy Yen, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ba Ria – Vung Tau said, the Long Kien Vermicelli - Ba Ria city, Long Son Oysters - Vung Tau city and An Ngai Rice paper - Long Dien district are the famous specialty of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, which has long been known for a long time. However, these products have not been established their intellectual property rights. The establishment of intellectual property rights will help to protect its reputation platform and promote the value of intellectual property products, and avoid misuse or tampering, helping consumers identify and choose the right product.

Also at the ceremony, Dr. Lawyer Le Xuan Thao - Director of T&T INVENMARK International Intellectual Property Co., Ltd, the consultant implementing trademark protection, also delivered a speech with special emphasis to the value of the intellectual property of enterprises in international integration. Protection of intellectual property rights help to promote investment, innovation, contributing a large role in the development of civilization of human society, such as: scientific and technological development; business development, import and export, contributing capital with intellectual property rights, adjustable design, product design, adapt to new markets, to avoid infringement of intellectual property rights, copy, forgery of others.

For the products of the local specialty, the link between the production facility, consistency and synchronization of price, quality is a very important issue. The protection of effective common brand will create economic benefits for all participants in the process chain of production, circulation and consumption of products, have important role in the development of agricultural economy, and create legal tools to manufacturers, business against fraud. In order to obtain its target, it requires manufacturers themselves to improve products quality, ensure the uniform production processes under the regulation for general use, delivering products to the market with stable quality, clear origin.

The establishment of intellectual property rights for the specialty products is to research its quality assessment, establishing protection mechanisms to ensure quality control, trade promotion, improving the efficiency of quality management products, while improving the economic value of the product. Products will be marked with brands, protected and used in practice, protect the legitimate rights and interests of producers, processors and products business.
