Facing the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the recent times, especially the emergence of new clusters of infections with unknown sources of infection in residential areas, offices of agencies and businesses, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committees for Disease Prevention and Control and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Emergency Dispatch No.

11/CD-UBND dated May 24, 2021 of the Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee on strengthening measures to prevent and control Covid-19, to contribute to the protection of public health, the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) announced that:

  1. From May 27, 2021, the NOIP temporarily stops receiving and returning industrial property registration results directly at NOIP's headquarters (No. 386 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi). The industrial property registration applications and official documents and documents submitted to NOIP's head office can only be received online or sent by post/EMS.
  2. For an application for industrial property registration submitted online: The applicant completes the application procedure at the NOIP's online public service portal, then sends the Bank's Certificate of payment of fees and charge, attached to the online application confirmation form to the NOIP.
  3. The applicant can look up the received application on his online account. Receipt of collection of industrial property fees and charges will be sent to the Applicant via the email address stated in the application for registration of establishment of IP rights.
  4. For applications submitted by post/EMS: The applicant transfers the industrial property registration application, official letter, payment documents of fees and charges to the NOIP. The NOIP will return registration declarations, receipts for payment of fees, charges, protection titles and related documents, etc. to the Applicant by post/EMS.
  5. The NOIP also temporarily suspends direct consulting activities at its headquarters. Accordingly, IP consulting activities in general and procedures for filing industrial property registration applications in particular can only be done via phone or email.
